The Southbury Public Library Youth Services department is thrilled to welcome back the Registered Dietitians from Food Explorers for two programs this October. We’ll be offering a virtual baking program for families as well as a new program for preschoolers and their caregivers in the library.
Tiny Food Explorers – Tuesday, October 12 at 10:00 am in the Kingsley room. Join Tiny Food Explorers for some fun with food! Come and explore new flavors and textures while playing games all about food and MyPlate! You’ll make a hands-on healthy snack that even the pickiest of eaters will be keen to try. Food Explorers Online: Greek Quesadillas with Tzatziki Sauce – Monday, October 25 at 5:00 pm live on Zoom. Join the Registered Dietitians from Food Explorers to make Greek Quesadillas with Tzatziki Sauce! To make this delicious dinner for your whole family, you’ll need the following ingredients: tortillas, spinach, shredded mozzarella, Feta cheese, plain Greek yogurt, 1 cucumber, garlic and lemon. There are also optional ingredients like: sun-dried tomatoes, olives, dill and mint. Participants will receive a Zoom link and credentials the morning of the program. Recommended for ages 7 & up. Registration required.
