3/8/2022 - Cooking Programs for Children and Families in April 2022

The Southbury Public Library Youth Services department is thrilled to welcome back the Registered Dietitians from Food Explorers for new virtual and in-person cooking programs for families.

Food Explorers Online: Pasta Fagioli Soup – Wednesday, April 6 at 5:30 pm live on Zoom. Join the Registered Dietitians from Food Explorers to make a warm and cozy dinner. We're making Pasta Fagioli soup! You'll need the following ingredients: olive oil, onion, carrots, celery (optional), garlic, 3 cans diced tomatoes, chicken or vegetable broth, cannellini beans (1 or 2 cans), parmesan cheese, ditalini pasta (or another small shaped pasta). You can season this soup with spices such as bay leaves, thyme, parsley, rosemary, and red pepper flakes.

Participants will receive a Zoom link and credentials the morning of the program. Recommended for ages 7 & up. Registration required.

Tiny Food Explorers– Thursday, April 14 at 11 am in the Kingsley room. Join Tiny Food Explorers for some fun with food! Come and explore new flavors and textures while playing games all about food and MyPlate! You’ll make a hands-on healthy snack that even the pickiest of eaters will be keen to try. All snack ingredients will be nut free but may contain dairy. No food will be shared.
