5/17/2022 - Cooking Programs for Children and Families in June 2022

The Southbury Public Library Youth Services department is thrilled to welcome back the Registered Dietitians from Food Explorers for new virtual and in-person cooking programs for families.

Tiny Food Explorers – Wednesday, June 22 at 11:30 am in the Kingsley room. Join Tiny Food Explorers for some fun with food! Come and explore new flavors and textures while playing games all about food and MyPlate! You’ll make a hands-on healthy snack that even the pickiest of eaters will be keen to try. All snack ingredients will be nut free but may contain dairy. No food will be shared.

Food Explorers: Strawberry Shortcake Parfait – Thursday, June 30 at 1:00 pm in the Kingsley room. Join Food Explorers to make Strawberry Shortcake Parfaits! You'll layer crumbled vanilla cake with sliced strawberries and homemade whipped cream. This recipe is nut free and contains eggs and dairy.

Participants will receive a Zoom link and credentials the morning of the program. Recommended for ages 7 & up. Registration required.
