5/23/2022 - Nutmeg Nominee Book Club: The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune on June 13, 2022

The Southbury Public Library invites interested teens in Grades 8-12 to join us for our first meeting of our High School Nutmeg Nominee Book Club to discuss The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune on Monday, June 13, 2022 from 4-5pm in the Brown Room.

Join us as we read through all of the 2023 High School Nutmeg Nominees together! This month, we'll be reading The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune! Pick up your book from the Teen Department anytime during library open hours to read before the book club meeting. Voting for the 2023 Nutmegs takes place in April 2023, and this is a fun and social way to read all of this year's Nutmegs. This book club will continue on the second Monday of the month as we read through the rest of the High School Nutmegs; you may attend all meetings or just the ones you are interested in. Learn more and register on the library’s website at www.southburylibrary.org/events.

The Nutmeg Nominees are potential titles for next year’s Nutmeg Book Award. The Nutmeg Book Award encourages children and teens in Grades 2-12 to choose their favorite from a list of nominated titles. Four awards are given annually: Elementary (Grades 2-3), Intermediate (Grades 4-6), Middle School (Grades 7-8), and High School (Grades 9-12).

This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Southbury Public Library, free, and open to residents of any town who are in Grades 8-12.
