The Southbury Public Library Youth Services department is thrilled to welcome back the Registered Dietitians from Food Explorers for new in-person cooking programs for the summer.
Food Explorers Baking: Cheesecake Egg Rolls & Cannoli Cones – Thursday, July 7 at 11:30 am-1:30 pm in the Kingsley room. Join Food Explorers for a special two hour baking workshop! You’ll create two delicious recipes: Cheesecake Egg Rolls and Cannoli Cones! Each recipe is nut free but will contain dairy and/or eggs. Children will work on most elements individually. Grades 2-5. Food Explorers: Three Cheese Pizza Bites – Friday, July 8 at 4:00 pm in the Kingsley room. Join Food Explorers to make Three Cheese Pizza Bites! You'll wrap biscuit dough around a delicious blend of three cheeses and Italian herbs, and bake them in a cake pop machine until golden brown. This recipe is nut free but contains dairy. Ages 7 & up. Tiny Food Explorers – Monday, July 11 at 11:30 am in the Kingsley room. Join Tiny Food Explorers for some fun with food! Come and explore new flavors and textures while playing games all about food and MyPlate! You’ll make a hands-on healthy snack that even the pickiest of eaters will be keen to try.
