On Tuesday, July 19th, 2022 from 7-8pm in the Kingsley Room, join us for an in person program about the local watershed and supply and learn about the benefits of vegetated buffers.
Join Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition to hear about the state of the watershed and water quality in the Pomperaug along with restoration and pollution prevention actions such as vegetated buffers. Buffers improve water quality by absorbing stormwater runoff and filtering nutrient and bacteria pollutants.
Carol Haskins uses both science and education to protect and improve the high quality water in the nine watershed communities. Carol Haskins joined Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition as Outreach Director in 2008 after receiving her Master of Science in Environmental Studies from Antioch University New England. She professionally gets to share her passion for aquatic environments by teaching other people about the way and wonder of the watershed.
Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this program is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency. The Rutledge Summer Series was made possible by the Charles H. and Ella Emery Rutledge Fund. This program is sponsored by the Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition Registration is required.
