6/30/2022 - Virtual Tour of The Egyptian Galleries at The Metropolitan Museum of Art on August 2, 2022

On Tuesday, August 2, 2022 from 1-2:30pm on Zoom and streamed to the Kingsley Room, join us for a virtual tour of the Egyptian Galleries of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Join us as we virtually visit the over 4,000 years of Ancient Egyptian art in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. .From a tiny ceramic hippopotamus to a colossal authentic Egyptian temple in the middle of Central Park, we'll unwrap everything from mummies to amulets and the pharaohs in between.

Marisa Horowitz- Jaffe has been teaching, studying and living ancient history for over 25 years. Her background includes double Bachelors degrees in Egyptology and Roman Archaeology from The University of Michigan, and a Master’s degree from Harvard University in Art and Museum Education.

Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this program is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency. The Rutledge Summer Series was made possible by the Charles H. and Ella Emery Rutledge Fund. Registration is required. Zoom invitation links will be sent via email on the day of the program.
