8/3/2022 - Berkshire Jazz Orchestra Summer Concert on September 2, 2022

On Friday, September 2, 2022 from 7-8:30pm, in the Brinker Fireplace Room, the Berkshire Jazz Orchestra will return to the Southbury Public Library to close out our Rutledge summer series with a concert.

Join us for the return of Berkshire Jazz Orchestra as they return for a summer concert featuring vocalist Jan Maki with selections from the American Song Book.

The Berkshire Jazz Orchestra (BJO) is a 17-piece ensemble based in Fairfield County. The band includes many professional musicians and music educators with great skill and amazing creative solo abilities, who believe in keeping the big band genre fresh and alive!

The BJO presents big band repertoire from classic swing bands such as Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Count Basie as well as music from more contemporary groups. The BJO's wonderful vocalist, Jan Maki, performs classic songs from the American Song Book made popular by Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Bette Midler and Natalie Cole, among others.

Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this program is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency. The Rutledge Summer Series was made possible by the Charles H. and Ella Emery Rutledge Fund. Registration is required. Please visit the link below for more information and to register.
