8/5/2022 - America at War: July-September 1942 on September 8, 2022

On Thursday, September 8th, 2022 from 2-3:30pm on Zoom and streamed to the Kingsley Room, join us for a virtual program and learn more about the United States in World War II between June and September 1942.

Join us for this continuation of a series commemorating the 80th anniversary of the United States entering World War II. Learn more about the military history of the United States between June and September 1942, just after the battle of Midway, June 1942. Focus will be on the outset of the Guadalcanal campaign in the Solomon Islands.

Mark Albertson is the historical research editor for the Army Aviation magazine, and the historian for the Army Aviation Association of America. He has taught classes on military history at Norwalk Community College as well as the Lifetime Learners Institute. Albertson has authored several books on military history.

Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this program is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency.
