2/2/2023 - Snow & Ice Craft-A-Thon! at Take Your Child to the Library Day

Celebrate Take Your Child to the Library Day on Saturday, February 4, 2023 by stopping by the second floor of the Southbury Public Library for our Craft-A-Thon anytime during library open hours from 9:30am to 4:00pm (while supplies last).

Join us for the 12th Annual Take Your Child to the Library Day! Stop by our Craft-A-Thon for a wide selection of snow and ice themed crafts you can make at the library or take home. These children’s crafts will feature snowmen, a yeti, and more! For teens, we’ll have To-Go Craft Kits featuring Penguin Plushies and Beaded Snowflake Suncatchers.

While you’re here, check out a library book! If you are a Southbury resident who would like to get a library card, bring proof of residency (such as a driver’s license or piece of mail). Children 5 and above can get a library card with their parent or guardian’s proof of residency. If you are not a Southbury resident, you can use your hometown library card at the Southbury Public Library. No library card is required to visit the library or participate in our Craft-A-Thon; they are only required for checking out books, DVDs, and other library materials.

Take Your Child to the Library Day is a free, fun, family-friendly event supported by the Connecticut Library Consortium and endorsed by the Association for Library Service to Children (a division of the American Library Association). For more information, visit www.takeyourchildtothelibrary.org.

This Craft-A-Thon is sponsored by the Friends of the Southbury Public Library, free, and open to residents of any town.
