2/17/2023 - Southbury Library Conducts Survey For Strategic Plan

The Southbury Public Library has announced a survey, being sent digitally and also available in hard copy, to town residents as the Library Board drafts its most current strategic plan. An email blast will place the survey in Southbury residents’ inbox this week. Respondents are encouraged to respond to the 10-minute survey within two weeks of receiving it. The Library places the responses of the community at the center of their strategic planning.

“Since the opening of the new library building in 2006, we have been at the heart of our community. And meeting the needs of our community is at the heart of our mission,” said Shirley Michaels, Chair of the Library’s Board of Directors. She continued, “We designed the survey to be relatively painless, timewise, but invaluable in maximizing our patrons’ experience as they take advantage of the vast resources our library offers.”

Would you like the Library to invest in soundproof booths that accommodate from one to four people for private video sessions, one-on-one interviews, tutoring, and more? That is just one of the modern offerings the Library is considering. What about 3D printing or expanded use of the Library’s beautifully landscaped outdoor spaces? In 10 minutes, you can make your preferences known and help chart the Library’s future.

In addition to the emailed survey, a link to the survey is found on the Southbury Library website. Paper copies are available at the Circulation and Reference desks at the Library, at Town Hall, the Southbury Senior Center, and in the Activities Building in Heritage Village. Surveys at Town Hall, the Senior Center and Heritage Village will need to be mailed by respondents to the Library: 100 Poverty Road, Southbury, CT 06488.
