6/19/2023 - Declaration of Independence on July 6, 2023

On Thursday, July 6th, 2023 from 2-3:30pm on Zoom and streamed to the Kingsley Room, join us for a virtual program about the Declaration of Independence.

The Declaration of Independence is a cornerstone document of the United States of America. Join us as we explore it as well as the documents that preceded it, such as the Articles of Association and the Causes and Necessity of Taking up Arms. We will examine the other revolutions inspired by the American Revolution.

Mark Albertson is the historical research editor for the Army Aviation magazine, and the historian for the Army Aviation Association of America. He has taught classes on military history at Norwalk Community College as well as the Lifetime Learners Institute. Albertson has authored several books on military history.

Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this program is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency. This program is sponsored by the Charles H. and Ella Emery Rutledge Fund. Registration is required. Zoom invitation links will be sent via email on the day of the program.
