The Southbury Public Library invites interested tweens and teens in Grades 6-12 to join us for three Teen DIY Gift Making events this December.
Grades 6-12: Join the Southbury Public Library for our Teen DIY Gift Series featuring easy to make gifts you can use for the holidays (or keep for yourself!). You'll also leave with instructions on how to make more.
Teen DIY Gifts: Paracord Bracelets & Lanyards: Tuesday, December 5, 2023 from 6-7pm in the Kingsley Room of the Southbury Public Library. Learn how to make paracord bracelets and lanyards! We’ll have a bright mix of colors available. You can choose to make a bracelet or lanyard; each contains 8-10 feet of paracord.
Lotions, Potions, Elixirs, and Bath Salts: Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from 6-8pm in the Kingsley Room of the Southbury Public Library. Learn about why and how to use essential oils, the myths and the facts. Then, create your own scented hand lotion, sugar scrub, elixir oil, and bath salt. Presented by Vanessa Fasanella, a crafter, jewelry designer, and instructor who has been leading craft and other hands-on workshops at Connecticut libraries since 2012.
Teen DIY Gifts: Felt Star Magnets & Keychains: Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 6-7pm in the Brown Room of the Southbury Public Library. Make cute felt stars and turn them into magnets or keychains! These easy-to-make gifts require simple sewing we’ll show you how to do; we'll have the supplies to turn them into magnets or keychains, too.
All these events are free and open to residents of any town, but they require registration because space is limited; register at www.southburylibrary.org/events. They are also all sponsored by the Friends of the Southbury Public Library.
