8/13/2024 - Dancing in the Dark: A History of Dance in the Movies on September 5, 2024

On Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 2-3:30pm on Zoom and streamed to the Kingsley Room, join us for a virtual program and learn more about the history of dance in movies.

The movies and dancing are a partnership born in heaven. From its very beginnings, the new medium of motion pictures turned toward dance as one of the best ways to showcase its unique ability to make movement come alive. Join us as we explore 130 years of thrilling movie dance performances and the extraordinary ways cinema brought dance to life.

Brian Rose is a professor emeritus at Fordham University.
