11/15/2024 - Twins: Science, Myths, and Mystique on December 11, 2024

On Wednesday, December 11, 2024 from 2:00- 3:30pm in the Multipurpose Room of Southbury Parks and Recreation, join us to learn more about twins.

Seeing double? Twins—identical and fraternal—make up a tiny fraction of the population, yet they stand out in a world dominated by single births, sparking intense interest and curiosity from the ancient past up to today. Join us and learn more about twins from identical twin speakers. Everyone is invited, including twins.

Identical twins Isabel Burk and Marian Wood, daughters of a twin, bring a lifetime of experience to this fascinating topic. Isabel has an MS in Health Science, with a background in School Health and Safety expertise. Marian has an MBA, with a background in marketing and genealogy. Only a few years ago, the twins confirmed through DNA testing that they are identical, despite their parents’ insistence that they are fraternal.

Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this event is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Southbury Public Library. Registration is required. Please visit the link below for more information and to register.
