On Tuesday, January 7, 2025 from 2-3:30pm on Zoom, join us for a virtual program and learn more about the history behind American legends.
This lecture, presented by accomplished historian and storyteller Valerie Gugala, will delve into some widely popular American legends that have been passed down through generations, exploring the truth behind these tales. While these legends may have become ingrained in popular culture, it is important to critically examine their historical accuracy.
Historian Valerie Gugala has been studying Abraham and Mary Lincoln for as long as she can remember. Her interest in the Lincolns led her to an interest in the Presidents, First Ladies, and their families. She and her husband have traveled to many Presidential Libraries across the country, and they aim to visit all of them in the next few years. Over the last 25 years, Valerie has spoken at libraries, schools, churches, senior groups, and park districts throughout the country. She loves to share her knowledge of and enthusiasm for our country’s history with audiences.
