Snow Sculpture Contest
Do you and your family wait for those good snowfalls to go out and build snowmen in your front yard? When the flakes start to fall, be creative and sculpt your masterpiece! Take a picture of your snow masterpiece and email to Parks & Recreation or drop it off at our office.
Photos will be on display at Southbury Parks and Recreation and winners will be announced by March 29, 2019.
Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday, April 6, 2019; 10:00am SHARP
Ballantine Park Field, 611 Old Field Road
Our Easter Egg Hunt is open to children up to 12 years of age. Come with your basket or bag to hold your candy and eggs. Bring your camera as there will be an opportunity to take pictures with the Easter Bunny! The event is free but please bring a canned food item for the Southbury Food Bank. Snow/rain day is Saturday, April 13.
Annual Memorial Day Parade And Picnic
Monday, May 27, 2019; 11:00am-Parade, 12:00PM-Picnic
Southbury's annual Memorial Day Parade begins at 11:00 am at Pomperaug Office Park and continues down Main Street South to the Memorial Green. (Between the Town Hall and the Parks and Rec/Senior Center Building.)
Immediately following the parade is the Annual Family Day Picnic at Ballantine Park, 611 Old Field Road.
The picnic starts at a noon and will run until 3:00 p.m. We will have a variety of activities going on throughout the day. Details will follow.
Boy Scout Troop 1607 will be selling hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and drinks throughout the day for all to enjoy. You can buy food from them or bring your own.
There is no charge for the Family Day Picnic.
