Southbury Celebration

Lake Stibbs Field, Southbury Training School, 1461 South Britain Road


Food! Fun! Fireworks! Please bring your lawn chairs and blankets and get set for a terrific evening of fun and celebration for all ages. Rain date 9/22.

  • Music, Food Trucks, Vendors from 4:30 to 8:30pm
  • Southbury Police, Fire and Ambulance personnel and equipment will be on-site providing public safety information.
  • FIREWORKS approximately at 7:45pm!!!

No alcohol and no pets are permitted at the event. Caution should be exercised with service animals due to the large crowds and fireworks noises. In case of inclement weather, please call the Southbury Parks & Recreation Department Info-line at 203-262-0633 for an official announcement.

9th Annual Trick or Treat Spooktacular!

Saturday, October 26, 2019; 3:00-7:00pm

Park at 501, 561 or 607 Main St. South

Costumed children and family members of ALL ages are invited for a unique Trick or Treating experience. The firehouse will be transformed into a spectacular maze of themes through which you can walk and collect treats. This is NOT a haunted house. Remember to bring a bag to collect candy! There will also be a Touch-a-Truck and Meet & Greet event with volunteer firefighters and Southbury Ambulance in the upper parking lot. The event is free but please bring a non-perishable item for the Southbury Food Bank!

Come to the Annual Holiday Tree lighting at the Veterans Memorial green! Come see the lighting of Santa's runway and join in the singing to greet Santa Claus!

Letters to Santa Claus

Drop off the letters by December 9, 2019

Mailbox located at P&R building, 561 Main Street South

The Parks and Recreation Department would like to offer your child a chance to write to Santa Claus and have Santa return a letter to your child. You can drop off your child’s letter at our building at 561 Main Street South as we will have a special mail box for Santa’s letters. Please include your child’s first name and last name and a mailing address.
