When Dr. YaYa’s Gumbo Party comes to town you are in for some of the best Louisiana – style musical cookin’ north of Lake Porchartrain! Dr. Ya Ya dispatches his musical minions, who resemble past and present members of rootsy rockin’ bands like the Bandidos, Hot Skillet Papas, Eight to the Bar, B. Willie Smith, The Convertibles and more. Come on down to the Southbury Parks and Recreation and help us kick off our first Summer Concert of 2019.
July 8: 6:30-8:30 pm “GUNSMOKE”
Please join us for one of Southbury’s favorite bands! Gunsmoke is enshrined into the Connecticut Country Music Hall of Fame, the Country Music and Dance Hall of Fame in Mount Kisco and elected band of the year six years in a row by the New York Metro Country Music Association. Gunsmoke began as a family affair with excellent vocals and musical talents to continue to burn the flame for the traditional sounds of country music. It is evident, once you hear Gunsmoke perform at a concert, you quickly become aware that they are excellent at what they do and their love for the music they were raised on.
July 15: 6:30-8:30 "THE KERRY BOYS”
The Kerry Boys are Mark James, originally from the County Kerry Ireland, now a Cheshire, CT. resident, and Pierce Campbell from Prospect, CT’s official State troubadour for 2007/2008. Their humorous, high-energy show will have you clapping and singing along in no time, engaging you from start to finish with their wide collection of traditional and original Irish/Celtic songs performed with pristine harmonies and expressive guitar and mandolin. Tony Pasqualoni and Paul Neri join the group for larger shows.
July 22: 6:30-8:30 pm “THE RAKES”

Band members include Phil Beach on guitar, mandolin and vocals; Chris Allan on guitar and vocals; Marc Poliquin on vocals; Scott Sullivan on drums and vocals; Cole Christie on Sax and Bob Sherman on bass and vocals.
