MESSAGE FROM P&R DIRECTOR

We have entered that busy time of year where you feel like there’s never enough time in a day. Our office has been busy training staff, planning camps and opening the pool. We are very grateful for the abundance of camp counselors who applied to work for us and for the returning camp staff and lifeguards. While Adventure Day Camp is fully booked with waiting lists, there are still several openings in Teenscape and a variety of sports camps in June and July. We are also offering a Cooking Camp and Game Creation & Coding camp the week of August 17th. Make sure to check out all our offerings in the camp link below.

We are trying to decide where our next coach bus trip should be. I have been contacted by several sports teams who would like to offer us tickets. If you would like to join us on an upcoming bus trip, please answer the question with your vote of where we should go next!

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend. We look forward to celebrating our Nation’s 250th birthday and our first veterans at the parade and picnic. I’m hopeful that the rain will hold off for us. If anything is canceled or changed, we will be making the decision at 9:30AM on Monday and posting it on our MyRec homepage. You can also call our office to hear recorded updates as they become available: 203-262-0633. Hope to see you then!

Program Highlights

SUMMER TENNIS CAMP

tennis courts

The tennis courts at Community Park are officially open again thanks to a grant from the U.S. Tennis Association. We’re so excited about the new courts that we have partnered with longtime partner Greg Sansonetti to offer a new tennis camp. Based in Fairfield County, Greg and his adult staff bring over 26 years of tennis teaching experience.

NEW THIS YEAR: Summer Junior Tennis Camp. Focus is on forehand, backhand, volley & serve. Fun game situations reinforce skills. Campers will have the option to participate in cross-training sports each day.

Campers must bring a tennis racquet, nut-free snack, labeled water bottle, sunscreen, and wear appropriate tennis court shoes.

The program is held at the Community Park, 160 Community House Road, Southbury.

First week is 6/29-7/1. Details and Registration
