MESSAGE FROM P&R DIRECTOR
Happy Summer Solstice everyone! We made it through another school year. Congratulations to all the graduates and all the students who are moving on up to the next chapter. I hope you now find the time to relax and unwind from a long year.
We are so excited for all of our programming beginning next week! The Town Pool opens Sunday at 11AM and will close at 7PM, just in time for Dads to cool off for Father’s Day. SPARK camp, swim lessons and the Sharks swim team start on Monday, followed by Toddler Tuesdays beginning 6/23 and then Water Aerobics beginning Friday 6/26. We look forward to a memorable summer with everyone.

MEMORIAL DAY CELEBRATION

The rain may have canceled our parade but it couldn’t stop us from honoring our Nation’s fallen heroes. The indoor ceremony brought together veterans, citizens, and active duty service members. The family picnic after was a joyful celebration of the hard fought freedoms we enjoy every day as Americans. Thank you to the Memorial Day Committee for seamlessly transitioning the event to keep everyone safe from the early morning storm. More photos in the online album and on Facebook.
SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

Join us again in Settlers Park for live music and food truck specials! Picnicking has never been easier: Bring Your Own Blanket and the food will be hot and ready to enjoy. After enjoying your hot meal - dance the night away with your family and friends. See website for more information.
MIDDLE SCHOOL POOL PARTY

All rising 6th, 7th and 8th graders are invited for a fun evening at the pool! There will be games, music and snacks. Residents and non residents welcome. Admission is $5 at the door.
Parents may drop their child at the pool at 6pm, with an 8pm pickup. See website for more information.
NEW CLASS: LITTLE SPROUTS GARDENERS!

Fox Den Learn & Play invites children to explore, create, and connect through hands-on outdoor experiences in the community garden at Settlers Park.
Rooted in play-based learning and nature exploration, Little Sprouts summer program includes gardening, sensory play, nature walks, storytelling, nature-inspired crafts, and simple science activities designed to spark curiosity and connection. Led by an experienced early childhood educator, each session encourages children to learn through play while building confidence, creativity, and a deeper appreciation for the natural world through shared outdoor experiences and community connection.
Depending on our plants, participants will be able to take home some of the fruits (and veggies!) of their labor. Keep an eye out for harvest sessions to be added as we get closer to fall.
The program is held at the Settlers Park Community Garden, 280 Crook Horn Road, Southbury.
Tuesdays and/or Thursdays, starting July 7, 2026. Details and Registration
