Join Southbury Parks and Recreation Department in collaboration with the Middlebury & Southbury Equity & Inclusion Council as we welcome back our Community Chorus: COSMIC! We are looking for residents of all ages to participate in the Community of Southbury and Middlebury Intergenerational Chorus (COSMIC). The entire community is welcome to participate to sing select musical pieces under the direction of music professionals. Participation in the chorus, as well as the concert, is free and open to all members of the greater Southbury community. Community members ages 12-112 are invited to join and children as young as 10 are welcome to partake if a guardian/adult participates as well.
“COSMIC began in February of 2020 but we were unable to continue due to the pandemic. Our goal is to create a community-wide intergenerational event that brings everyone together. Sharing our talents will create an enjoyable musical experience for all. We are excited to continue our intentional plan to co-join our voices to become one within our community. We are excited to garner the public’s support and share what will truly be inclusive musical performances,” said Michelle Rosen, COSMIC Chairperson and Community Liaison for Middlebury & Southbury Equity & Inclusion Council.
Rehearsals will be held Tuesdays at the Southbury Parks and Recreation building:
