Babysitting Basics
Back to Basics! Join long-time instructor, Teresa, to learn the basics of babysitting. Apply your new skills to future job opportunities and approach childcare with confidence!
This course covers basic care, first aid, home safety, and entertainment for child care. Information for the course was prepared with participation from the Southbury Police Department, Fire Department, and Health Department. Participants do not need to bring any materials to class.
Program will take place at Southbury Parks and Recreation, 561 Main St South, Southbury, CT 06488.
Parents Night Out: Kid-Friendly Spooky Night!
Southbury Parks and Recreation's (SPR), Parents' Night Out Events offers parents/guardians to have an evening to themselves, while SPR offers an evening of activities, games, crafts, and dinner for children. These special events are for rising grades K-9. Registrants will participate in a variety of structured activities and games! Participants will also have an opportunity to make specialty crafts to take home. Dinner, snacks, and beverages will be provided by Southbury Parks and Recreation from local restaurants.
Halloween-themed night in October 18. Children can wear their Halloween costumes to this parent's night out. We will carve pumpkins, make spider web crafts, watch a Halloween movie & have fall-themed snacks. The night will end with a Monster Mash Glow Dance Party!
Drop-off is between 3:00 PM and 3:30 PM. Pick up no later than 9:00 PM.
