Parks and Recreation

The Parks & Rec Clubhouse provides a space to meet and make new friends through specialized activities for various ages. Participate in different & unique activities while our staff helps guide you through your adventures. And the best part is that we clean up the mess! Our activities range from seasonal activities, science/learning activities, sensory learning and other messy crafts & activities!

Reptile Experience Lab (Ages 5 & up)

Reptile lab offers a fun way of learning about certain reptiles as pets and in the wild, exploring all the different snakes in Connecticut. Each lab offers something different and each class ends with hands-on experience with pet ball pythons or bearded dragons. Participants may have an opportunity to feed a reptile. We encourage all ages to attend: children, teens, adults, and seniors!

Programs are held at the Southbury Parks and Recreation Building, 561 Main Street South.

  • Bearded Dragon 101 | Ages 5+ | 4:15pm-5:15pm | $9 residents, $11.75 non-residents
  • Reptile Hangout | Ages 2+ | 5:15pm-6:00pm | $7 residents, $9 non-residents
  • Reptile Feeding | Ages 16+ | 7:30pm-8:15pm | $7 residents, $9 non-residents
