All of the organizations solely depend on donation. We are always in need of your help and generosity.
Food Assistance
Southbury Food Bank
The Food Bank is housed at 88 Main St. South in Southbury. Applications are available at the Social Services office. Please visit Southbury Food Bank's website for more information and hours of operation.
Calvary Food Pantry
Calvary Food Pantry is a mobile food pantry located at Calvary Southbury, 354 Kettletown Road in Southbury The pantry is open every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month from 5:30pm-6:30pm and is open to anyone in need in Southbury or area towns within driving distance. It is a drive-up pantry, so food is delivered to each car shortly after arrival. For those who cannot make it during the hours of operation, arrangements can be made for food delivery by calling 203-267-5441 (Southbury only) or emailing the pantry at pantry@calvarysouthbury.com.
Connecticut Food Bank Mobile Pantry
Due to COVID-19, the Connecticut Food Bank Mobile Pantry Truck will not be at the Southbury distribution site until further notice. Any questions can be directed to the Connecticut Food Bank at 203-469-5000 or cfb@ctfoodbank.org.
CT Food Bank delivers a variety of fresh products for a free distribution to limited income households throughout the state. The Mobile Pantry comes to Southbury on a third Friday of the month at 10 a.m. and is located at Southbury Senior Center at 561 Main South. Energy Assistance
Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP)
CEAP is administered by the Department of Social Services and coordinated by New Opportunities Inc. It is designed to help offset the winter heating costs of our most vulnerable lower income households. The Social Services completes applications for winter heating aid for low-income Southbury households from October through April. Income and asset verification is required. Southbury Fuel Bank
Clients are required to apply first to federal and state energy assistance programs. For those who qualify, assistance is offered only in crisis situations or after the client has exhausted all other forms of energy assistance benefits. For those who do not qualify for other assistance programs, assistance is offered on a one-time basis. Clients facing extreme financial crisis may reapply for assistance as needed. Deadlines for applying for the state fuel assistance programs will be announced on the Town’s Home Page in News & Announcements. The fuel bank is a non-profit organization. Donations to the Southbury Fuel Bank can be made via check and mailed to 501 Main Street South, Southbury, CT 06488.
Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program
The Town of Southbury has Community Development Block Grant funds available for use by income eligible residential property owners for housing rehabilitation projects. These funds come from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and are administered at the State level by the Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD).
The Town of Southbury has retained A&E Services Group, LLC to coordinate its local housing rehabilitation loan program and to serve as the Town’s agent.
Some of the work that may be eligible for funding includes the correction of health and safety violations, code compliance, roofing, carpentry, electrical work, painting, plumbing, heating, and other non-luxury work subject to approval of the Town.

Housatonic Valley Health District
The Housatonic Valley Health District (HVHD) provides Public Health services to the citizens of the towns of New Milford, Oxford, Southbury, Washington, and Woodbury, CT. One of the services they offer is providing vaccinations for children and adults at a reduced cost. To find out more please go to Housatonic Valley Health District's website.
Region 15 Before and After School Program
The Region 15 Before and After School Program (BAS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to making safe, nurturing, and affordable before and after school care available to children in grades kindergarten through grade six, in the Middlebury-Southbury community of Region 15. The program provides working parents a reliable and worry-free alternative to having their child(ren) in an empty house for part of the day. Please visit Region 15 BAS website for more information.
Renters Rebate
State law provides a reimbursement program for Connecticut renters who are elderly or totally disabled, and whose incomes do not exceed certain limits. Persons renting an apartment or room, or living in cooperative housing or a mobile home may be eligible for this program. The renters' rebate amount is based on a graduated income scale and the amount of rent and utility payments made in the calendar year prior to the year in which the renter applies. Applications, by appointment, may be made at the Social Services Department between April 1 and October 1.
Safe Haven of Greater Waterbury
Safe Haven provides emergency shelter and free comprehensive support services to victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Safe Haven is committed to ending violence and sexual assault by changing the social conditions and beliefs that perpetuate violence against women and children.

Southbury Needy Fund
The Needy Fund provides assistance on a year-round basis. They work with the Town of Southbury Social Services Department and schools providing help. Assistance includes emergency car repairs, eye exams and eyeglasses, electric and telephone bills, pharmacy, medical and dental bills, rental assistance insurance bills and organized school trips.
Funds collected by the Needy Fund are used to purchase clothing for the children during the Holidays, including items such as winter jackets, sneakers and snow boots. The Southbury Police also do a toy drive at Kmart, volunteering all of their time to the two days when the collection is going on. The funds also help to defray the costs of college books for qualified students pursuing a degree.
All funds collected go to the families in need and all services and materials are donated.
Women's Club
The Southbury Women's Club (SWC) sponsors several fundraising events and activities throughout the year, such as the CT Arts & Eats, Operation Backpack, the Southbury Turkey Trot 5k & Kid's Fun Run, and An Evening with Santa. A significant portion of the funds raised by these events go directly to the Southbury Food and Fuel Banks, as well as the Southbury Needy Fund
Operation Backpack is a service SWC provides to needy families in Southbury. Last year SWC provided over 70+ students with backpacks and all the necessary school supplies their teacher/grade recommended. Contact Social Services at (203) 262-0653 to apply for yours today!

Alcoholics Anonymous
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. Celebrate Recovery
Celebrate Recovery is a powerful, Christian 12-step program designed to allow us to become free from life’s hurts, hang-ups, and habits. Meetings are at 7pm every Monday at the Calvary Southbury (354 Kettletown Road, Southbury) and are open to everyone. Men and Women's groups meet separately, and the groups are confidential. The C.A.R.E.S. Group
The C.A.R.E.S. Group is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing education, support, resources, and hope for families, friends, and anyone with a loved one affected by mental health and substance use disorders.
