General Information
The Finance Department is primarily responsible for the accounting of all Town funds, maintaining financial records and preparing financial reports. The Finance Department handles accounts payable, payroll, pension administration, benefit administration, and investment of Town funds.
Other responsibilities include recording receipts, making deposits, overseeing the budget process, assisting with the yearend audit, long term financial planning, handling insurance related manners and the issuance of bonds.
The Department provides budget monitoring and financial reports to the Board of Selectmen and the Board of Finance throughout the fiscal year.
