In order to aid our citizens in the cleanup from the devastating flooding, the town of Southbury is waiving fees for storm-related debris brought to the town’s Transfer Station.
Homeowners can bring their vegetative debris and household items that were damaged in the flooding at no charge.
Please identify the address where the debris originated. We do understand neighbors are helping each other and we appreciate that. Identifying the location will help us with our potential reimbursement from FEMA.
Logs, stumps, and hazardous material will NOT be accepted. Please do not mix these items in with your loads.
In order to use the Southbury Transfer Station you must have a permit. Permits can be obtained at the Transfer Station or at the First Selectman's office at Southbury Town Hall. You need to provide your picture ID and vehicle registration in order to obtain a permit, if you do not already have one.
Southbury Transfer Station is located at 231 Kettletown Road. It is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 7:00am to 3:00pm. The website is www.southbury-ct.org/transferstation.
