Closed Roads
At this time, there is no time estimate for the repair of the closed roads. Please know that the Public Works is working as quickly and safely as possible to address the damages.

- Bucks Hill Road has sustained damage and may need to close for repairs for a period of time. We will update as more information becomes available. Although it remains passable at this time, avoid the area if at all possible.

- Georges Hill Road: closed from south of Kettletown State Park to Kettletown Road.
- Kettletown Road: closed between Stonegate Drive and Burr Road.
- Old Field Road: closed between Heritage Road and Poverty Road.

Library
Residents should rest assured that the town is taking all of the steps necessary to safeguard the library. The water that was in the basement has been pumped out. Town officials are in communication with our insurance company as well as contracting with vendors to clean out the basement. This is a monumental effort and the town is moving as quickly as possible within the guidelines we must follow.
Region 15
All schools in Region 15 will open tomorrow as scheduled. Please visit the Region's website at www.region15.org for more information.

FEMA
In order for Southbury to qualify for assistance from FEMA it is imperative that all homeowners who suffered damages to self-report on the town website at www.southbury-ct.org/emergencycenter.
If you need help submitting your damages on the website, please come to the Southbury Town Hall, 501 Main Street South, 1st floor, Probate courtroom, during regular Town Hall hours.
FEMA Disaster Declaration Guidelines
The following guidelines are important for FEMA to declare a disaster:
An individual may only seek reimbursement for the uninsured damage to the home only. FEMA will cover structure damage but not damage to your yard. Trees are not covered.
Document the damage with photos and keep all receipts. Damage that is covered by insurance does not help the Town and State get to the above thresholds. You can however, include your deductible as uninsured damage.
If you are a business that was impacted by the storm, any physical damage that is not covered by insurance can be reported on the form. A business can include economic injury that is not covered by insurance.
If FEMA does declare a local disaster, it will be several months before we know.
As always, we thank you for your cooperation during this difficult time.
