First Selectman Jeffrey Manville and Southbury town officials met with Senator Richard Blumenthal on Monday to survey flood damage, share where the Town is at in the recovery process, discuss a pathway to recovery, and listen to some of the residents most impacted from the devastating flash flooding that began on August 18, 2024.
Senator Blumenthal spent time in town listening carefully to official’s concerns and touring some of our hardest hit areas. He said that the goal was to help towns affected build back for resiliency and future weather conditions, not just replace what was destroyed. First Selectman Manville thanked the Senator who will be a significant advocate to relay our needs to the decision makers in Washington. The Town of Southbury appreciates his continued help.
