MESSAGE FROM P&R DIRECTOR
Thank-you to everyone who came to celebrate the changing season with us during our week of Fall Fest activities. We were so lucky to have ideal weather and I really enjoyed watching Toy Story 5 under such a beautiful starry night sky. As always, the community came together to make our events possible. SACA helped us get some great craft vendors, Shoprite donated the pumpkins for pumpkin carving, Sustainable Southbury repurposed the pumpkin scraps, the Southbury Public Library co-sponsored movie night with us, The Southbury Land Trust brought in lots of interesting creatures, Hidden Gem donated their delicious apples, and the Knights of Columbus passed out apple cider.
I greatly appreciate all the effort and patience that went into making the scarecrows that are outside our building. They came out great! Making a scarecrow is much harder than you might remember. It’s been awesome seeing people drive or walk in to check out your work. We also enjoyed seeing everyone come in costume to our first ever Trick or Treating parade last Thursday. Thank-you to the 20 businesses and organizations who came to pass out candy. Businesses reported giving out candy to over 200 kids that night. That’s a lot of treats! We also thank our volunteers for their time and enthusiasm.
Before we dive fully into holiday planning, let me give my yearly reminder that you only have one more week to do something outdoors after school before it’s too dark! So lace up those running shoes, take your kids to the playground, or take that walk after work before it’s too late. Hope to see you out there!

Routes will be on sidewalks, gravel farm roads, and dirt trails off Flood Bridge Rd as we watch the leaves come to life and learn from others' relatable experiences.
