Mission/General Information
Southbury Celebration is a town-wide event featuring food, music, fireworks and community fellowship. The annual program is co-sponsored by the Town of Southbury and the Southbury Training School and overlooks beautiful Lake Stibbs at the Southbury Training School on Route 172. The community event draws approximately 5,000 people each year.
Event Information
Due to anticipated rain on Saturday, the 2024 Southbury Celebration has been moved to the rain date of Sunday, September 8.
- Food court, music, vendors, from 4:30 to 9:00pm
- FIREWORKS approximately at 8:15pm

No alcohol and no pets are permitted at the event. Caution should be exercised with service animals due to the large crowds and fireworks noises. Extensive free parking is on the STS Great Front Lawn. Handicapped Parking (by permit only) will be in a designated area as close as possible to the Rte. 172 crosswalk. (The Lake Stibbs parking lot will not be used due to storm-related damage.) Due to congested event traffic and safety concerns, there will be no pedestrian walking, no vehicle parking and no parent “drop off/pick up” along Route 172.
