The town continues to clean up from the storms and flooding. Public Works is making great progress with the necessary repairs to a number of town roads; we do not have an estimated time of restoration. We appreciate everyone's patience as we work to restore roads.

Volunteers Needed
The Southern Baptist Disaster Relief needs volunteers to help them with storm cleanup in our town. If you are interested in volunteering in our community, please contact them at 203-494-2675.
Inland Wetlands and Zoning Information for Flood Related Projects
Our Inland Wetlands and Zoning departments released guidelines for storm cleanup. If you have any flood related projects, it is important that you read these guidelines.
Closed Roads
At this time, there is no time estimate for the repair of the closed roads. Please know that the Public Works is working as quickly and safely as possible to address the damages.
The following is a list of roads that remain closed:
- Bucks Hill Road will be CLOSED between Old Waterbury Rd and Route 6/Main Street North at 9:00pm today, August 28, 2024 for emergency repairs. It is scheduled to reopen at 6:00am on Thursday, August 29. Although the road will be passable in the morning, please avoid it, if possible.
- Crook Horn Road: closed at the end of Settlers Park.
- Georges Hill Road: closed from south of Kettletown State Park to Kettletown Road.
- Kettletown Road: closed between Stonegate Drive and Burr Road.
- Old Field Road: closed between Heritage Road and Poverty Road.
- Old Waterbury Road: closed at Church Road - accessible from Main Street North and Dublin Rd; closed to thru traffic west of Old Highway Road.
- Route 67: closed between Kettletown Road and Community House Road. Detour on Community House Road.
- Sanford Road: closed between Jeremy Swamp and Jacob Road.

Showers Available
Any resident that is in need, the showers at the Parks and Recreation building are available for use during regular town hall hours. Please bring your own toiletries, shower shoes, and towels. Must show photo id showing Southbury residency and sign in at the front desk.
Planet Fitness has generously offered to allow those affected by the flooding to shower at their facility. A short form will need to be filled out when you get there. Please bring your own toiletries, shower shoes, and towels. Thank you, Planet Fitness!
