Southbury Development Services Team

The Office of Economic Development announces the launch of the Development Services Team. The Development Services Team (DST) is comprised of Town Department Heads that impact commercial development and is chaired by the town’s Economic Development Director. The Team meets by appointment with prospective business owners in an informal format that allows the business owner to discuss their initial plan. The respective town department heads then provide insight into special considerations which should be addressed in developing a project, in addition to basic information that will be needed to formally review a subsequent application. This open dialogue facilitates more complete and thorough plan submittals and allows the potential applicant to better assess the overall viability of their business in a specific location prior to expending money on engineers and architects or entering into lease and purchase agreements. The goal of this preliminary step is make it easier for applicants to see their business dreams realized in the Town of Southbury.
